ABOUT five years ago, I began to notice that singing in the shower didn't sound so great.
Gradually I found I was only singing songs in a lower register, or had to sing falsetto to reach the top notes I'd once reached with ease.
Karaoke confirmed what I had suspected I could now only sing songs by the likes of Nina Simone or Tracy Chapman.
But rather than being a redundant shower-singer, I have now been reincarnated as an uber-bass singer in the award-winning, all-female a cappella Circular Keys Chorus.
I can tell you that we basses form the basis of four-part harmony.
Without our gorgeous low voices, the other three parts are sunk.
So come and be someone important. Join our chorus and experience the thrill of singing superlative barbershop in a supportive, friendly and fun environment.
Each Wednesday evening, for three consecutive weeks from August 26 to September 9, we're offering complimentary lessons.
They will be at our rehearsal venue at St Joseph's in Bella Vista, under the experienced tutelage of Vicki Dwyer.
You'll learn the bass part to a song and will experience singing it with our chorus on the risers.
Music keeps you young and vitalised, so don't miss this opportunity to get with the swing.
It will give you a new lease on life and make singing in the shower a much more pleasurable experience.
