MORE than 1 million people tune in every week to see Marcia Hines judge whether starry-eyed wannabe performers have got what it takes to be famous.
Now this Australian Idol and legendary Boston-born pop star is surrendering herself to be judged by a Hills audience when she brings her latest show to Castle Hill RSL this Saturday, August 22.
Marcia Hines was 16 when she came to Australia in 1969 to star in Hair. By 1975, she had become one of Australia's biggest stars with her first number one single, You.
She has won the Queen of Pop title three times, is an inductee into the ARIA Hall of Fame, and this year received an AM for her services to the entertainment industry and community through a range of charitable organisations.
As well as nurturing young talent on Australian Idol, Marcia Hines continues to record and to perform.
She's bringing her new show to the Castle Hill RSL this Saturday, August 22, when she'll perform all her hits as well as songs from her latest album, Life , which she says is a life-affirming album of songs that have helped her survive and have given her strength.
The concert starts at 8.30pm. Tickets are $30. To book, call 88584800. Castle Hill RSL is at 77 Castle Street.
