HE'S a grammy-award winning, pop music star whose career has spanned four decades.
He's worked with '70s supergroups such as Supertramp and The Who, has performed for the Queen and famously sang with Miss Piggy on The Johnny Carson Show in 1978.
Australian singer/songwriter Leo Sayer has embarked on a nationwide tour and has The Hills in his sights.
This will be the second visit to The Hills for the 61-year-old music legend, who told the News he had performed at Castle Hill RSL in recent years, although he couldn't remember when.
``I guess that's typical of someone who has spent much of his life on the road performing,'' he said from his inner-west home.
``I do remember that they do go mad at Castle Hill though it was a fantastic show.''
The British-born Sayer, who was also a guest performer on The Wiggles' 2008 DVD, You Make Me Feeling Like Dancing, is ``two-thirds'' through his 12-month tour which will wrap up in Melbourne in December.
``It's been absolutely fantastic. There is a lot of contrast in the show, which suits me because I am a Gemini and have always been a chameleon.''
The show will include a song from each of his 13 albums as well as an acoustic set.
``For a performer, the important thing is not to think too much.
``For 40 years I've been running on instinct.
``I never get nervous and never prepare for the show. As the Beatles say, `Let it be'.''
These days Sayer divides his time between touring and working with charities close to his heart, such as Variety and Save the Children Fund.
``There are a lot of needy people out there and if I can use my celebrity for good to make a difference to people's lives, that's what really counts.''
