THERE are only a few weeks left to try the winter menu options at the Wild Pear Cafe in Dural.
The seasonal dishes include a bruschetta with haloumi, baby leaves, salsa verde and tomatoes for entree ($9.50), a stack of roasted field mushrooms with fresh ricotta, salsa verde, baby leaves and caramelised balsamic ($14.50) and a prawns and napoletana sauce pasta ($21.90).
Co-owner Lorraine Solomon said the relaxed atmosphere and fresh food had ensured the cafe's success after a year-and-a-half in business.
`Our chef Jeanette Takchi is passionate about food and pays great attention to detail,'' she said.
I had lunch there last week with the News photographer, Natalie Spiteri, and we were both delighted with what we ate.
I tried the lamb cutlets, which work really well when combined with pan-fried gnocchi, eggplant, and cherry tomatoes, served with a side salad for $24.50.
The Wild Pear Cafe is open from 9am to 4pm from Monday to Friday and from 8am to 4pm on weekends. Weekend bookings are recommended.
