Burglary spree ends in teen's arrest

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after seven break, enter and steal offences at Oakhurst, Castle Hill, Rouse Hill, Glenwood, Shalvey, Glendenning and Leonay between October 27, 2008 and June

6, 2009.

Police from Operation Bombora IV, targeting such offences in Sydney's north-west, arrested the boy in Shalvey on Saturday and seized items including a laptop computer and mobile phone.

Police allege a car was stolen at each break-and-enter and other property including computers, televisions and other personal items were taken.

The boy was charged with 21 offences including six counts of aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence, five counts of be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, three

counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, two counts of drive whilst disqualified from holding a licence, drive at a dangerous speed, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and not giving particulars to owner of damaged property.

He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Childrens Court on Sunday.

Dob-in-a-bikie

Gangs Squad detectives have launched the dob-in-a-bikie initiative, aimed at raising public awareness and reporting of illegal Outlaw Motor Cycle Gang activity.

Members of the public are urged to contact Crime Stoppers immediately on 1800 333 000 if they witness the following:

*Any acts of violence or overt crime involving OMCG members or associates which may include drive-by shootings or extortions often targeting the building industry.

*If you see an OMCG member wearing gang colours who is involved in an act of crime or violence.

*If you see any suspicious behaviour in and around OMCG club houses in your area

If you are a witness to, or if you become aware of, any illegal activity involving OMCGs.

Driving while disqualified

A Parklea man has been charged with driving with a licence that was disqualified to 2011.

The man, 43, was travelling in a Holden utility and stopped when exiting the M2 motorway.

He was asked for his licence, which had been disqualified by Liverpool Local Court from December 2006 to December 2009.

The disqualification period was extended to December 2011 after a driving incident in October 2007.

He will appear in Parramatta Local Court on August 27.
