SARAH Attard and Natalie Cavalli turned a passion for cooking into a thriving business.
The sisters can be found most weekends at the Hawkesbury Harvest Farmers' and Fine Foods Markets selling their products and demonstrating how to create healthy and tasty meals.
Mrs Cavalli said the business, which she and her sister started in July last year, had grown rapidly from a produce stall to an enterprise with cooking classes.
``We've cooked since we were little and we've always had an interest in it,'' she said.
``Originally we were only selling products we'd developed such as deli products, olives, marinated fetta and mushrooms as well as dressings.
``From there we've evolved to cooking demonstrations and cooking schools.
``We do the demonstrations to incorporate produce from other producers at the markets as well as some of our products.''
Mrs Cavalli said they started the cooking classes last August after requests from customers.
``It's a natural extension of what we were doing anyway,'' she said.
``The difference to other cooking classes is the size.
``For most people going to classes, there's 60 or 70 people in the class, where ours usually have about four, although barbecue classes have about eight students because it's a different style of cooking.''
She said they help build confidence.
``A lot of people, even if they can cook competently, don't go beyond their comfort zone.
``So we're trying to get people to go outside of that a little bit and try new things.''
