Don't pant for release of panther report

30 Jun, 2009 09:40 AM
AFTER numerous sightings of black panthers in the Hills and Hawkesbury district in recent years, a Government report has finally been completed.

But whether it's released or not is another matter.

The Hawkesbury MP Ray Williams asked the Minister for Education and Training, Verity Firth, representing the Minister for Primary Industries, Ian Macdonald, about the report in Parliament last week.

He said: ``Given the minister commissioned a report into the black panther sightings in the electorate of Hawkesbury and surrounding rural areas:

(1) Has the report been completed?

(2) If yes, when will the report be made available to the public?

(3) What actions will be undertaken in regard to recommendations from the report?''

Ms Firth answered: ``A report has been completed and I am currently considering it.''
