Excellence award is ideal accessory

OLD-GOVERNMENT House volunteer Thelma Scanes (pictured), of Castle Hill, was honoured for her work in leading the soft furnishings project at the annual Museums and Galleries NSW IMAGinE Awards on October17.

Mrs Scanes drew on her extensive range of skills, including upholstery and embroidery, to supervise all aspects of the soft furnishings for Australia's most complete Georgian house museum in Parramatta Park.

Her award was in the Individual Excellence category.
