A THIRD successive generation of the Aisbett family has joined the ranks of Fire & Rescue NSW after graduating from the state training college in Sydney recently.
Jason Aisbett, 25, was among 24 recruits who graduated from the challenging 13-week training course and follows in the footsteps of his father Jim.
Jim, a senior firefighter at Castle Hill, said he and his father, John, were proud to see a third-generation Aisbett join the fire service.
"Our family has given unbroken service to Fire and Rescue NSW since 1969," Jim said.
"My father loved being a firefighter and I became a firefighter in 1989 and haven't looked back since."
Jason said he'd grown up around fire stations and always wanted to follow in his father's and grandfather's footsteps.
"I would hear about the things my dad and my grandfather did at work and see how they helped people in the community," he said.
