In the pink at home

4/11/2008 4:00:00 AM
JULIE Conti-Fitzhenry of Kellyville raised $5200 for breast cancer research during a very pink morning tea at home last Thursday.

The Pink Ribbon ``chicks for breast'' was a great success.

More than 100 people feasted on pink cupcakes and enjoyed auctions and raffles with goods donated from about 50 businesses.

Ms Conti-Fitzhenry said this was a cause very close to her heart.

``I've had a few mammogram scares in the last six years and had to do a biopsy,'' she said. ``It was absolutely worth it to support this cause and women like my mother-in-law and some of my friends who have battled breast cancer.''
