A WINSTON Hills mum has won a $20,000 grant to develop her business idea for a functional baby swaddler called the Sleepy Wings.
Shae Tye competed against 1100 entrants in the Huggies Mum Inspired promotion and was one of five mothers to win.
"I cried immediately when I found out I won," she said.
"The grant will help me seek some business advice, engage more services and really focus on this and take it further. It's now or never."
The mother-of-two had the idea for Sleepy Wings while breastfeeding her daughter at 2am. She started working on it the following morning.
"I couldn't get enough sleep because Alannah was constantly losing her dummy and I had to keep getting up to give it to her," she said.
The product has been approved by the Infant and Nursery Product Association of Australia.
"It's the best feeling to know I can help provide longer sleep for parents," she said.
The competition awarded original business ideas that could nurture the mother-child bond and make life easier for parents.
