BRENDAN Weal, 10, of Castle Hill, has claimed his first national title.
The Castle Hill RSL Gymnastics Club member, along with 19 other members from the club, represented NSW at the National Trampoline Sports Titles, held in Adelaide this month.
The Excelsior Road Public School student won the under 11 division in the double-mini trampoline event.
Brendan's coach Damian Ryan, said the win was well-deserved.
``This was a fantastic achievement for Brendan after a long and intense year of preparation,'' Ryan said.
In addition to his national success, Brendan also won a silver medal in individual trampoline and narrowly missed out on a medal in the synchronised trampoline event with partner Daniel Hancock, 10, who is also from Castle Hill RSL.
Overall, the Castle Hill RSL Club performed well with club representatives taking home a total of 12 medals. There was also four members selected to represent Australia in the upcoming World Championships in St Petersburg in November. The four top talents are Damian Ryan, 26 and Bethany Bailey, 19 in the World Championships and Matthew Weal, 15 and Dominic Clarke, 12 in the World Age Championships.
The club also took home the honour of being the top ranked trampoline discipline club in Australia.
