Mitchell Starc showed his cricket Test match credentials last week in Perth with eight wickets and the second fastest 50 scored by an Australian.
The tall left-arm quick, from Baulkham Hills, is likely to retain his spot for the first Test against Sri Lanka on Friday in Hobart.
Despite wide-spread calls for his selection Starc missed out in the first two Tests against South Africa.
He made the most of his opportunity in the third Test by smashing 11 boundaries in 43 balls on his way to an unbeaten 68.
The 87 run partnership with Nathan Lyon (31) was the seventh highest Australian 10th wicket stand.
For Friday’s match Starc is likely to replace injured first-choice bowler James Pattinson, while Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus are in line for Test recalls.
