Firies battle Kenthurst blaze

Hills Rural Fire Service volunteers are happy to report no outbreaks of fire resulting from today's extreme heat.

But they did attend a house fire in Kenthurst at noon today.

"Crews are just returning to their stations now," the area's community safety officer, Lynette Liston, said.

She said 35 firefighters from the Hills RFS and Fire Rescue NSW attended the fire at Kenthurst in eight fire-fighting vehicles.

"The cause of the fire remains unknown," Ms Liston said.

She reminded residents living in bushfire-prone areas to complete their Bushfire Survival Plan, if they hadn't already done so.

"Monitor the conditions and stay alert of any current fires and incidents in the area," Ms Liston said.
