Arrest over armed robbery of Northmead restaurant

Castle Hill Police charged a 27-year-old man on Friday for an armed robbery at the Blue Dragon Restaurant in Northmead.

Police allege the Auburn man entered the Campbell Street restaurant on January 28 and robbed six people with a 30 centimetre meat cleaver.

They said he took a large amount of money from the cash register.

The man was refused bail and charged with six counts of robbery with an offensive weapon, driving while disqualified, assault and resisting police.

He was due to face Burwood Local Court yesterday.
