Cyclist assaults female driver in North Rocks

A Hornsby Heights woman was punched in the head by a cyclist last Wednesday while driving through North Rocks.

The road rage incident started at 7.40am on North Rocks Road when a cyclist pulled up alongside a Honda Civic and punched the driver in the side of the face.

Police said the man was allegedly screaming at the woman and spat on the car.

The woman lost sight of the rider but spotted him minutes later on McDonald Street.

It’s believed she attempted to exit car to confront the rider but the man kept pushing her car door shut.

She managed to get out of the car and grabbed the man with the aid of another motorist.

The rider broke free and the woman reported the incident to police.

He is described as Caucasian, 20-30 years of age and was last seen wearing a red and black racing T-shirt.
