
Good speakers: William Clarke College students competed in the Oz Speak Public Speaking competition on January 27, held by The Hills Council. Pictured is year 12 Anna Worsley and year 11 student Miriam Milivojevik who took out first and second place respectively in the senior division. Nicole Cheung reached the finals in the junior division.

Honoured: Castle Hill MP Dominic Perrottet presented former Hills mayor Larry Bolitho with the NSW Community Service Award. The NSW Government Community Service Award recognises people who have substantially contributed to the improvement of life to members of the community, beyond their usual occupation. Kung hei fat choy: Castle Hill RSL and Jin Yan Asian Cuisine celebrated the start of The Year of the Snake with a Chinese New Year festival on February 10. There was the god of wealth, fortune telling, calligraphy and Chinese group dancing and singing. At night crowds enjoyed a lion dance and martial art performance, and a firecracker display. Guests enjoyed a Chinese New Year banquet while the two lions danced around the restaurant. Pictured is Zhou Mo and Li May.
