VIDEO: Wanderers for Mariners showdown

THE Western Sydney Wanderers will put their title credentials to the test this Saturday when they travel north to face A-League leaders the Central Coast Mariners.

It will be the third meeting this season between the two rivals with the Wanderers yet to register a win against the reigning premiers.

Watch our video featuring interviews with Mark Bridge and Tony Popovic below:

The Mariners lead the A-League ladder by a solitary point but will enter the round 23 fixture as slight favourites having beaten Wanderers 2-0 in their last encounter.

Wanderers coach Tony Popovic said the Central Coast will be a "different type of challenge" and will be a good test for his side.

A big threat for the Wanderers this weekend will be Mariners marksman Daniel McBreen who leads the A-League scoring chart with 16 strikes this season.

McBreen scored twice in the two teams' last meeting which was also the Wanderers' last defeat.

Since then the Wanderers have recorded seven back-to-back wins.

Next Sunday the Wanderers return to Parramatta Stadium to face last-placed Wellington Phoenix.
