More than 100 people turned out for a community forum on cyber bullying run by Castle Hill police.
Hills crime manager, Detective Inspector Gary Bailey said the event at the Castle Grand Community Centre was arranged at the request of the India Club and was so successful it would probably be repeated.
During the two-hour forum, guest speakers from the Australian Federal Police, NSW Police and Nine MSN discussed the risks parents needed to be aware of online and how to monitor their children.
“I think the most important thing about the forum was the targeting of parents,’’ said Castle Hill MP and father of two, Dominic Perrottet, who was among the attendees, together with Baulkham Hills MP David Elliott.
Mr Bailey said the Hills local area command planned to hold a forum about youth issues next time.
‘‘We are looking at inviting some people, perhaps from each school in the area, to be part of that forum,’’ he said.
