Tour de Hills now on March 24

CASTLE Hill Rotary Club’s 18th annual Tour de Hills has been postponed to Sunday, March 24 after weather conditions rendered it too dangerous.

So the team from the Griddle Restaurant in Rouse Hill Town Centre is still in the midst of preparing a feast for more than 600 hungry Tour de Hills bike riders and visitors for the second year.

Head chef Kolja Nikoljc, also know as ‘‘Nick’,’ has released his ride-day menu that includes a choice of one of two pasta dishes — fettuccine boscaiola and penne arrabiata— with a tossed salad and a bread roll.

Mr Nikoljc said the meal was the perfect dish to fill empty bellies after a big bike ride.

‘‘We make everything fresh and nothing is made from a tin,’’ Mr Nikoljc said.

‘‘It’s a delicious meal that I think everyone will enjoy.’’

Owner John Johnson said it was about supporting his local community.

‘‘I was asked if I would like to sponsor the event and I said ‘why not,’ it’s about my community,’’ he said.

‘‘We don’t think about making money, it’s about helping my local community.’’

Riders’ registration details on the Tour de Hills website have been retained, so it will not be necessary to register again.

■ The website has been reactivated so you can still register for the event.
