A man returned home to find his 72-year-old mother had been locked in the laundry while robbers ransaked her Cherrybrook house in the middle of the day.
About 3.30pm yesterday, Friday, March 22, police were called to a house in Cherrybrook, after reports of a home invasion.
Police were told two men entered the house about 12.30pm and detained the woman in the laundry before ransacking the home, stealing an amount of property and fleeing.
The woman was not injured.
A crime scene has been established and is being examined by specialist officers.
The two men have been described as Caucasian appearance, mid to late 30s, with a solid build.
One had tattoos on both arms. They were wearing shorts.
