Detectives are renewing their appeal for public assistance following the attempted ransom of a woman after her home was broken into in Castle Hill last year.
In June 2012, a 68-year-old woman returned from holidays and discovered her Castle Hill home had been broken into.
The woman’s safe, containing a substantial amount of jewellery and family heirlooms, was stolen.
Following the break-in, the woman received numerous phone calls from a man who told her she would receive her property back if she paid him a sum of money.
The woman alerted The Hills police and detectives commenced inquiries and established Strike Force Yellowgum to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
They’re now reappealing for public assistance in a bid to identify and locate the man involved.
