Crestwood High School student Vanessa Li learns about herself while having fun with aged care residents.
The year 11 student had a great time playing games with residents of the Baulkham Hills aged care facility, BCS Aminya, as part of her community service project.
Miss Li is in the youth development program, Max Potential, and saw the experience as a ‘‘good chance to give back to the community’’.
‘‘I wanted to work with aged people because I’ve never really been close with my grandparents,’’ she said.
‘‘I helped the residents feel cared for by playing games and doing activities with them and talking to them during lunch.
‘‘I have learned a lot about myself and, together with my coach Steve Tibbs, I have discovered my goals relating to all different parts of my life and how to achieve the goals.’’
The Max Potential program is an initiative of the Castle Hill RSL.
