The public is invited to attend Dural Pony Club’s One Day Event on Sunday from 8am until 5pm at their grounds at Bannerman Road, Kenthurst.
The event is the highlight of the club’s calendar, hosting four other pony clubs within their zone (Zone 23). Members from the Forrest/Hills, Avondale, Arcadia and eastern suburbs clubs will attend.
The ODE comprises the three disciplines of dressage, showjumping and cross country.
An ODE is a competition that tests the horses submission (dressage); its jumping skill (showjumping); and its strength and stamina (cross country).
There will be place ribbons awarded for each discipline as well as champion and grand champion ribbons for each grade.
There are many other disciplines conducted at pony club throughout the year but this is the only event where three are conducted in the one day.
ODE’s are run in level of proficiency of the horse/rider combination rather than age groups.
This event is open to all riders from clubs within our zone from E grade to A grade.
Entry is free and there will be hot and cold food and drinks served all day.
This would be a golden opportunity for anyone thinking about joining a pony club to come along and see how things are done.
The club accepts members for competition and rally days up to 25-years-old and general riding members of any age. Our latest improvement has been the creation of a new cross country course which takes full advantage of the natural bushland surrounding our fields.
The club holds regular rally days on the first and third Sunday of each month except in December and January.
