A Kellyville man had a lucky escape from far more serious inury when his car crashed into a tree at Wilberforce on Monday.
Ambulance, police, fire and CareFlight teams were called to the crash, on Putty Road, shortly before 4pm.
The CareFlight doctor said the 64-year-old man was treated by the trauma teams when trapped for almost an hour before he could be cut free from his car.
The man suffered chest injuries and fractures to his arms and legs.
He was flown by CareFlight to Westmead Hospital where he remained in a serious but stable condition on arrival.
