Hornsby Library is offering three free health talks this week:
■ Medicine Management on Friday, August 30, 10.30am. Participants get given a Medicine Record Card and learn how to use the card when visiting doctors, pharmacists and hospitals;
■ Life in the Slow Lane: Living with Parkinson’s on Monday, September 2, 11.15am. Judy Recher (diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2005 and accredited by Parkinson’s NSW to help raise awareness about the impact of the disease) and Denise Forrest (main support and caregiver for her husband, Ian, for more than 17 years) will present their personal experiences;
■ Multicultural Health Week 2013 on Monday, September 2, 6.30pm. A Mandarin-speaking seminar featuring ear, nose and throat surgeon, Dr Tony Kuo (also director of Macquarie ENT Clinic at Macquarie University Hospital). Covers snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea, blocked nose and sinusitis, tinnitus and hearing loss.
