Bulls beat Magpies
YOU could say the price is right about him. Barnstorming front-rower Brad Price scored three tries in the Hills Bull’s 58-22 romp against Asquith Magpies in the Sydney Shield on Sunday, taking his season’s tally to 24, third on the list. Fullback John Hassarati also finished second among the season’s point scorers after the scrappy win. The Bulls will play Cabramatta in a sudden-death rugby league semi-final at Cabramatta’s New Era Stadium at noon this Saturday.
Hornets in finals
The Hills Hornets senior women’s teams both returned home without a title from the Waratah Championship League basketball finals weekend, although the youth-league women did reach the grand final. The younger Hornets upstaged the Northern Suburbs Bears in an elimination semi-final on Saturday, coming from a long way behind to win 51-44. A stronger, more experienced Comets led from the start to win the grand final 68-46, however.
There was no grand final for the senior women, who were outclassed 74-47 by unbeaten minor premiers, the Hornsby Spiders in their semi-final. The shock came in the grand final, where the Illawarra Hawks upset the Spiders 62-54.
