STAFF at Gilroy College at Castle Hill are whipping up support for the St Vincent de Paul Society's Winter Appeal.
School staff combined to write a cookbook — the Gilroy Catholic College Staff Cookbook — which contains more than 100 recipes.
All money raised from book sales will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The idea to create a cookbook stemmed from students' inspirational fund-raising efforts for World Youth Day.
"So the teachers decided they would get involved and assist the students' fund-raising efforts, and help them get across to World Youth Day [in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil]," the school's business manager John Bennett said.
The cookbook was originally designed to be sold for Mother's Day but due to its popularity among staff and students, the school will keep selling the book and raise money for charity.
Mr Bennett said the cookbook included favourite and treasured recipes of staff members.
"I think its biggest attraction is that it contains a big cross-section of main meals to desserts, as well as many recipes from different cultures," he said.
"It's an everyday cookbook and doesn't require difficult culinary skills."
