Warrah Special School at Dural has won $5000 from CUA after its nominated school project received more community votes.
Warrah beat six other schools across The Hills in CUA Community Care 2013.
The school’s project was to purchase new educational equipment to improve its overall teaching abilities and help students reach their maximum potential.
The community was asked to vote on all the nominated projects.
CUA Castle Hill branch manager Lilian Yousef said: ‘‘The response to our Community Care program this year has been incredible. The project proposals nominated by all seven schools in the Castle Hill area would have made worthy winners and the voting was very close.''
CUA presented the cheque for $5000 to Warrah on September 4.
This is the third year of CUA Community Care, a program linked to CUA’s sponsorship of the national adidas School Fun Run program – a long-standing healthy initiative designed to raise funds for school while making fitness fun.
Schools in the catchment area of CUA Castle Hill that either registered to hold a School Fun Run, or had already held one, were eligible to participate in CUA Community Care.
