Motorists and commuters are advised of changed traffic conditions tomorrow at the Webbs Creek Ferry in Wisemans Ferry due to rescheduled maintenance to the western ferry approach ramps.
The ferry crossing will be closed to traffic tomorrow, Tuesday, from 7am to 4pm, weather permitting.
A Roads and Maritime Services spokesman said the RMS will carry out repairs to the western approach ramp ‘‘to improve public safety and reduce future maintenance costs’’.
‘‘The ferry is an important connection for the Hawkesbury River between Wisemans Ferry, Webbs Creek and St Albans,’’ he said.
The work was rescheduled to coincide with the ferry’s monthly service day.
During the ferry closure, an alternative route will be available via Wisemans Ferry.
This alternative route connects to an unsealed road and heavy vehicle operators are advised to delay non-essential travel during the work.
Electronic message signs will be in place to direct motorists.
