THE Davis twins are doing it for themselves; one in stilletos, the other in uggies.
You see, one Davis, Alison (the older of the two by eight minutes), is a haute couture fashion designer; the other, Vanessa, is a star of comedy series Housos.
They live together in West Pennant Hills and both are in the throes of big changes.
"After studying at the Whitehouse Institute of Design I went to New York and worked with Mark Jacobs, and when I came back I was the design director for the Collette Dinnigan diffusion line," Alison said. "I have now decided to launch my own line, Alison Davis Collection [which] will go into stores nationally in February, 2014.
"It's high-end evening wear for young women."
Vanessa plays her namesake in the controversial comedy series Housos, which follows the residents of the fictional Sunnyvale Housing Commission block as they battle cops and scam Centrelink.
"We just got back from touring our stage show — Housos Live on Stage — in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle and next year there is the possibility of a season three and maybe another movie," she said.
"But I'm now also exploring my options in dramatic roles. I'd love an action role because I'm quite athletic."
She is also waiting impatiently for the release of a very special lipstick.
"Recently I was doing a car wash for cancer; from that I will be having a Pink Ribbon lipstick named after me," she said.
