If you were a pupil or teacher at Dural Public School in 1988, it’s time to take a trip down memory lane. On Sunday the school will open a time capsule buried 25 years ago at its' biannual country fair.
“At 12.30pm the time capsule contents will be put back into the time capsule, together with current student work and mementos and be reburied in the front gates ready to be opened in another 25 years,’’ principal Milly Stone said.
Other fair features include rides, international food, school performances, community demonstrations, market stalls, games, devonshire teas, music, plants, showbags, face-painting, mini golf, a chocolate wheel, animal farm, laser tag and — for the first time — a dunk tank.
“One of the aims of the fair, besides raising valuable funds for the school, is to bring the community together,” said a school P&C spokeswoman.
■The Dural Country Fair is on Sunday, October 20, 10am to 4pm at 622 Old Northern Road, Dural. Free entry. Proceeds will go towards school technology purchases.
