A Kellyville woman, 48, will appear in court today charged with failing to report the death of her mother several months ago and accessing her bank accounts.
The 83-year-old woman was found in the bedroom of a house on Alessandra Drive on October 18.
Castle Hill police detectives said the daughter, who was the primary carer, was not present and her location was unknown.
Police examined the scene and conducted a post mortem examination on the woman, which confirmed she had been dead for several months.
Police allege the 48-year-old woman had fraudulently accessed and obtained money from the dead woman’s bank accounts on several occasions.
On Thursday the daughter was found at a hotel in The Rocks and arrested.
She was charged with failing to report a death and dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
She was refused bail and is expected to appear in Central Local Court today.
Investigations are continuing.
