OAKHILL College was crowned the champions of the Junior TheatreSports Schools Challenge competition at Sydney Secondary College in Leichhardt recently.
On November 22, year 8 students Harrison Lamond, Jake Woodhead, Benjamin Tulinsky, Christopher Wadih and Jack Langford used their improvisation skills as they sang and danced their way to victory against schools such as Tara Anglican Girls School, Sydney Secondary College, Abbotsleigh, Arden Anglican School and Scots College.
Coached by their drama teacher Zoe Tidemann, the competition featured teams of between three and five students to create one-,
two- and three-minute improvised scenes on stage which were judged by improvisation professionals.
Teacher Thu Vo said: ‘‘The boys hypnotised the audience, especially in their laughing mouse song’’.
Ms Tidemann said she was proud of her team.
“The boys are imaginative, creative and courageous.’’
