Christmas in the Hills has been named a resounding success after more than 8000 people celebrated Christmas at Bella Vista Farm last night.
The event was coordinated by St Paul’s Anglican Church Castle Hill, St Bernadette’s Catholic Church and Wesley Uniting Church and officially opened by Parramatta Eels' Tim Mannah and Lauren Huxley.
It was a fundraiser for three Hills children’s charities: Lifestart and Woodbury at Balcombe Heights Estate in Baulkham Hills and Tallowood School at Kellyville.
All three support children with special needs and early intervention.
While final figures are yet to be confirmed, the bucket collections raised $3300, which will be shared among the three charities.
Tallowood principal Carol Robson, Karyn McNeil from Woodbury and Jenny Teale from Lifestart said they were all thrilled and overwhelmed by the generosity the public displayed.
Woodbury also made a profit of $1421 on glow products and candle sales.
‘‘A big thank you to Hills councillor Yvonne Keene for donating the glow products,’’ Ms McNeil said.
Commonwealth Bank also took a gold coin donation for candle sales.
