SPA has classes for all abilities

THE professional team at Stratosphere Performing Arts (SPA) is proud to offer well-rounded tuition in all aspects of physical performance art.

Director Kate Gibbs said their classes included jazz, tap, classical ballet using the Ballet Australasia Limited Syllabus, contemporary, hip hop/JFH, acrobatics and cheerleading.

"Stratosphere Performing Arts offers classes which cater for all ages and abilities," she said.

"We take great interest in ensuring each student participates in a friendly, happy and safe environment. Our studio teachers are trained and recognised in their relevant styles. They are 'Working with Children' certified and adhere to all relevant safe dance practices in their classes."

Ms Gibbs said the studio was home to an elite performance team of dance troupes who performed at competitions and local community events throughout the year. Events include the Sydney Royal Easter Show, school fetes, studio fundraising events and lots of eisteddfods.

"SPA operates at three community venues, conveniently located near surrounding schools and public transport," she said.

"Classes are held at Dural Public School as well as Dural Squash Courts and Beaumont Hills Community Centre where rooms are fitted with dance mirrors, barres and stunt mats for acrobatics and cheer class."

Some of their 2013 results include:

■ On Pointe Dance eisteddfod: first place

■ Dance Classique eisteddfod: first place

■ Energy Express eisteddfod: first place
