A Maroubra woman, 24, was found with documents and stolen mail belonging to 70 people during a police search in Winston Hills in the early hours of Wednesday.
Due to recent incidents officers from the Castle Hill Police proactive team investigated mail theft in The Hills area.
They were patrolling the M2 near the Abbott Road exit at 2.20am when a Honda Accord was stopped.
During a search police found a smoking pipe allegedly used for crystal methamphetamine, a Visa card and documents in the name of another person in the woman’s handbag.
Inside the car police also found bank insurance documents and other documents belonging to residents from Parramatta, South Windsor, Annandale and Rosehill.
She was charged with two counts of goods in custody and with possession of identity information.
The woman was given conditional bail and is due to appear in Parramatta Local Court on February 12.

Warning after Glenhaven pensioner scammed
A Glenhaven man, 83, nearly lost $700 after giving his bank password to a man posing as a Commonwealth Bank employee.
During the call on January 18 at 1.40pm, the victim was told he was required to change his password after someone tried to make a bank transfer from his account to India.
After giving his password to the caller, the resident later received a text from Commonwealth Bank advising him of a real attempted transfer to an account in India.
The bank told police the attempted transfer was cancelled and the matter is under investigation.
Castle Hill crime manager detective inspector Gary Bailey warned residents not to give out any private information to unknown callers.
‘‘That includes, birthdays, access or pin numbers,’’ he said.
‘‘If unsure who you’re speaking to, hang up and call your bank.’’
Double demerits this weekend
Double demerit points will apply to drivers during the Australian Day long weekend.
From Friday to Monday, inclusive, points will be doubled for speeding, not wearing a seat belt, child restraint or helmet for motorcycle riders.
