Parents at Woodbury School in Baulkham Hills were treated to a night of extravagance at Gold Class Cinemas Castle Towers recently with a private screening of the movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.
Baulkham Hills MP David Elliott and the Australian Hotels Association, which purchased experience for 40 people at a recent fundraiser, agreed to make the donation to parents at the Woodbury School which teaches children with autism.
Mr Elliott said he hoped the evening provided a welcome break for parents facing the challenge of raising autistic children.
‘‘These extraordinary parents of special children are often the forgotten carers so it was great to be able to give them a night off and pamper them a bit,’’ he said.
Mr Elliott thanked the sponsors The Radisson Blue Hotel, The Mean Fiddler, Riverside Oaks, Castle Hill RSL and The Crowne Plaza Norwest, as well as former Prime Minister John Howard who signed a hard copy ofhis autobiography.
The parents were given tickets to win lucky door prizes valued at more than $2000.
