Hills Relay for Life: Bowl along for cancer cause

THREE Hills businesswomen have joined forces to fight cancer.

Former Hills mayor Sonya Phillips has teamed up with Karin Murton from Karin Murton Hair Design and Susan Cliff of Robert Cliff Master Jewellers to form the Biz Buddies.

They are holding a charity night on Saturday, March 8 at Castle Hill Bowling Club to support the Cancer Council's 13th annual Hills Relay for Life.

It will be held on May 3-4 at Wrights Road Reserve, Kellyville.

The night will include twilight barefoot bowls, a seafood buffet and a rock band.

Ms Phillips is the chief executive of the Community Transport Organisation, which provides transport for cancer patients. She dyes her hair every year for the cause.

"This year will be bigger than ever, with loads of prizes, food and great music," she said.

Ms Phillips is ready to fight cancer after losing her father and two brothers to the disease.

"This year we aim to raise $20,000 and I might even shave my head," she said.

There will be raffles with prizes such as $1000 shopping spree at Robert Cliff Master Jewellers and an overnight stay at the Radisson Blu with breakfast.
