Castle Hill Country Club was recognised at the NSW/ACT PGA annual awards recently.
The club was awarded the 2013 NSW/ACT PGA City Pro-Am of the Year for its annual IC Frith and Associates Insurance Brokers Castle Hill Pro-Am two day golf tournament.
The best of the best were celebrated when more than 220 guests gathered at Pymble Golf Club on February 21. Golfing royalty included PGA Life member Dan Cullen and legend golfer Frank Phillips.
Club general manager, Melissa Ellis said: ‘‘Our club is extremely proud to win such an esteemed award and to be recognised for the most successful City Pro-Am.
‘‘I congratulate all of our team for their dedication and hard work in making the tournament a swinging success.’’
Twenty trainee professionals graduated on the night and were welcomed into the PGA as full members of the association.
Alex Edge from Castle Hill Country Club was among those regonised.
The club’s head professional David Northey said it was a proud moment for him to see his trainee professional graduate to full professional.
‘‘He’s now off to play in Canada,’’ Mr Northey said.
Guests were entertained by former Australian cricketer and ABC commentator Kerry O’Keefe.
The club will host its two-day IC Frith Pro Am golf tournament on March 17 and 18.
