Fake $50 note withdrawn in Round Corner

A MOTHER of six from Kenthurst got a rude shock when she realised a $50 note she withdrew from ATM was a fake.

Davena Irish said when she withdrew the $200 in Round Corner about 2.45pm yesterday she noticed straight away one was ‘‘a funny colour’’.

‘‘It’s very obviously a fake,’’ she said.

‘‘It’s got no watermark, it’s a different size to the other notes and it looks like the little plastic window has been cut out and stuck on ... like someone’s used a colour copier to make it.’’

The News is awaiting comment from the police and the bank from which the note was withdrawn.
