Glenhaven Rotarians visit Typhoon Haiyan victims

Glenhaven Rotarian Francis Bernabe and his wife Ophelia visited the Philippines in February to help residents affected by Typhoon Haiyan which struck on November 8.

It killed more than 5500 people and left more than one million families homeless.

Rotary donated shelter boxes with basic survival essentials like a tent and cooking equipment.

Mr Bernabe also gave thongs and slippers to street children and gave medical help.

He said: "As in any natural disaster, children are among those who suffer the most. I must say I was proudly wearing my Glenhaven club shirt during our mission."
