COME along to The Hills Relay for Life Purple Day at Castle Towers this Thursday, April 10, for a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree.
From 10am to 8pm the shopping centre will host the launch of the 24-hour fund-raising event for the Cancer Council.
The Hills mayor and co-chairwoman of The Hills Relay for Life, Michelle Byrne, understands finding a cure for cancer is "more of a marathon than a sprint".
"I spent years in the lab trying to find cures for cancer and I know how difficult and costly it is," Dr Byrne said. "More funding means we can put together more pieces of the puzzle.
"The Hills Relay for Life is a chance for the community to unite in an effort to raise funds and awareness to find a cure for cancer."
There will be a silent auction near Robert Cliff Master Jewellers, a magic show with illusionist Jack Daniels at 5.30pm and a Purple Parade with a three-piece brass band, Towers Ted and store mascots at 6pm.
People can register for The Hills Relay for Life, buy raffle tickets, donate to the Cancer Council during the parade and enter the draw to win a shopping spree at Castle Towers, which is sponsoring the event.
■ The Hills Relay for Life is on May 3 and 4 at the Centenary of Anzac Reserve in Wrights Road at Kellyville. Registration: $20. Details: hillsrelayfor life.com
