Castle Towers thefts — trio arrested

A mother, daughter and a friend were arrested and are being investigated in relation to thefts from three stores at Castle Towers shopping centre on April 9.

Police were tipped off by security staff after they observed the women between 3pm and 5pm allegedly taking items totalling $690 from a supermarket and two large department stores.

A Bella Vista resident, 55, a Kellyville Ridge resident, 31, and a 29-year-old Chiswick resident who had her baby boy in her arms at the time, are being investigated over the alleged thefts.

Items stolen included perfumes, clothes and groceries.

Police are reviewing security video footage.

Thieves target Beaumont Hills houses

A bronze Nissan Murano was stolen from a house in Diggins Street, Beaumont Hills, on April 10 between 7am and 8.35am.

Residents told police their house was ransacked and a TV and the  car — registration CEY97J and worth $32,000 — were stolen.

In another break-in, personal items with an estimated value of $12,000  were stolen from another Beaumont Hills house on April 9.

Police said between 11.30am and 6.05pm the house on Beaumont Hills Drive was entered via an unlocked ground floor window.

A lap top, two tablet computers and a diamond ring were taken.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to call Castle Hill detectives on 9680 5399.
