Pedestrian death at Baulkham Hills prompts calls for bus-stop relocation

The Hills councillor Mike Thomas requested on Tuesday that council’s local traffic committee look at relocating a bus stop on Old Northern Road, Baulkham Hills.

His comment, during questions without notice, follows the death of a 73-year-old Baulkham Hills pedestrian who was hit by a motorcycle and a car on March 31.

The woman died in hospital on April 2.

Witnesses told police she was crossing Old Northern Road after getting off a bus when she was struck by a motorbike.

That impact caused the woman to fall into the path of southbound traffic where she was clipped by a Subaru.

Cr Yvonne Keane said council might consider installing an overhead crossing on Old Northern Road, with funding from advertising.
