The 23rd annual Kenthurst Country Fair is on this Sunday (May 18) and St Madeleine’s Parish is hopeful with the money they raise, that they can start work on a new church.
‘‘We’ve been here 28 years and there was always a plan to build a new church,’’ Maria Hodgkinson, the parish secretary, said.
‘‘It’s the major fund-raiser for the church and a great community event,’’ Ms Hodgkinson said.
A percentage of funds raised will also go to the Emmaus Disabled Persons Catholic Services, which comprises four homes in Stanhope Gardens, Blacktown and Windsor, each accommodating four people with an intellectual disability.
Features of this year’s annual fair — the 23rd — include an animal farm, pony rides, rides for all ages, show bags, face painting, a café, pizza, pancakes, sausage sizzle, gluten-free foods, a chocolate wheel, raffles and silent auctions.
■ Sunday, May 18, 10am-4.30pm, 28 Annangrove Road, Kenthurst; in the grounds of St Madeleine’s Primary School. Eftpos will be available.
