Ben O'Brien is Kellyville Baseball Club's 2013-14 recipient of the Coach Carl Award.

The award is named after the late Carl Lundgren, and is presented by his son, Wayne, a former major league baseball player who pitched for Australia at the recent series at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Ben is in the under 12's division 2 team and was recognised for being a great sportsman and ambassador for baseball, giving his all at every game, listening to his coach, and practising with enthusiasm.

He listens to his coach, Alex Wishart, and tries his hardest to put into practice all the skills that Alex is teaching. Ben arrived at games and practices with enthusiasm and anticipation, and put in effort above what was asked for.

Ben is a versatile player who is quick around the infield, has tried his hand at pitching and has a great glove to take a catch when needed.

Kellyville Baseball Club, along with Wayne Lundgren, are proud to present this award to Ben.
