The Western Sydney Academy of Sport hosted its 2014 Rugby League Program Presentation on June 4.
The event was held at St Mary’s Leagues Club, which is the game day home ground for both the academy’s Harold Matts and S.G. Ball teams.
Special guests were Parramatta Eels player Junior Paulo, Penrith Panthers players Bryce Cartwright (former WSAS athlete), Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Minister for Sport and Recreation, Stuart Ayres.
Parramatta Eels general manager Daniel Anderson conducted a very entertaining and inspiring interview with Junior, who gave advice to the aspiring young athletes.
Other guests in attendance were Blue Mountains MP Roza Sage, Fairfield MP and shadow minister for sport and recreation Guy Zangari as well as representatives from our key stakeholders Penrith and Parramatta District rugby league football clubs, and NSW Rugby League.
This was the academy’s chance to recognise all of the hard work and dedication that the players and staff put in.
Coaches awards went to Kytak Chan from Mount Pritchard and Tangirere Hokai of Fairfield West, while Henry Nafai from St Marys and Orchard Hills resident Corey Waddell gained the awards for Best and Fairest.
