The Hills District Basketball Association had three wins and one loss over the weekend, in round 11 of the 2014 Waratah Championship League (WCL) competition.

Both local teams were at the Northern Suburbs Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday to play the Northern Suburbs Bears and split the results on the night.

The Hornets women won 95-77, whilst the men lost 93-85 after leading for most of the game.

Sunday's games were a double success for the Hornets at home, with the women defeating the Newcastle Hunters 78-60 and the men also winning 85-79.

The leading point-scorers for the Hornets women were Casey Samuels (39 points), Wendy Strong 30, Jamie Samuels 30 and Anita Roditis 24.

The Hornets men were led by Paul Brotherson 37, Josh Chapman 33, David Hayman 30, Emils Duselis 25 and Robert Meyrick 24.

Both Hills District teams are at home at the Hills Basketball Stadium, Fred Caterson Reserve, Castle Hill this Saturday afternoon against the Sydney Comets, with the women's game at 4.30pm and the men's game at 6.30pm.
