Hornsby Council has created an interactive online map that allows residents to easily see the planning controls that apply to their property.
The council has compiled more than 200 A3-sized maps that are part of the Hornsby Local Environmental Plan into a single application that is easy to navigate.
Mayor Steve Russell said: ‘‘This is going to be especially useful for professionals like town planners and architects, but it will also be handy for any resident who wants to know the regulations applying to their property.’’
Features of the online map include:
■The ability to search for specific properties;
■Colour-coding to show which planning controls apply to each property;
■An explanation of which properties may benefit from the state government’s Complying Development Code;
■The ability to print a map or report of the information displayed on the screen.
